Why we built it

Shopping is moving into AI answers. When a buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity “best running shoes for flat feet,” the AI names a handful of stores. Most merchants have no idea whether they are one of them — or why. Traditional SEO tools answer “where do I rank on Google.” They do not answer “does AI understand my catalog well enough to recommend it.” That gap is what RankLens exists to close. We built on a simple bet: the structure an AI engine can actually extract — schema, variants, clear product facts — now matters as much as keywords once did. RankLens audits the thing machines read. Our beliefs about GEO

• AI visibility is earned by structure, not tricks. Clean schema and clear product facts beat keyword stuffing in an AI answer. There is no shortcut that survives a model update. The stores that show up consistently are the ones whose catalogs an AI can actually parse.
• A score is only useful if it tells you what to do next. Every RankLens finding ships with a specific, copy-paste fix and an expected score lift. A number without a next step is just noise — your audit delivers a ranked action list, ordered by impact.
• Audit the public surface only. RankLens reads what any AI crawler can read: no store database access, no analytics integration, no authenticated pages. What you see in your report is exactly what the machines see when they evaluate your store.
